Police Department after officers had been searching for him. Collins, 27, was wanted in a Tuesday afternoon shooting at McMillan Towers.

Around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, police were called about a shooting on the parking lot of McMillan Towers, 212 S. Fairground Street. A 23-year-old Decatur, Ill. man was transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The investigation revealed there was a fight on McMillan Towers' parking lot between Collins and an unidentified man. Collins pulled out a gun and shot multiple times at the unidentified man. Collins missed his intended target, but struck the 23-year-old man once in the leg.
The shooting victim had been in Jackson for about a week visiting family. Collins was arraigned in Jackson City Court on charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $100,000. Collins next scheduled court appearance is at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 15 in Jackson City Court.
