HUNTINGDON, Tenn. (AP) — A company that makes transmissions for outdoor power equipment is investing $10 million to expand in Tennessee, officials said.
Tennessee’s economic development department said Tuesday that Hydro-Gear has chosen the city of Huntingdon in Carroll County to open a fourth U.S. location. Officials said the expansion will create 375 jobs.
Based in Sullivan, Illinois, the company designs and manufactures precision drives including hydrostatic transmissions, transaxles, gear reduction drives, displacement pumps, wheel motors and electric drive systems, officials said.
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development said it has supported several economic development projects in Carroll County over past five years, resulting in about 850 job commitments and about $500 million in capital investment.
