Road work schedule for West Tennessee counties

From the Tennessee Department of Transportation

 

There will be possible DAYTIME or NIGHTTIME lane closures at various locations in Region 4
to make repairs or new installs on an as needed basis at various locations throughout the 21
counties.

 

District 47
BENTON, CARROLL, HENRY, GIBSON, OBION, WEAKLEY, DYER COUNTY

 

VARIOUS ROUTES – Pavement markings will be repainted across the Region (West
Tennessee). This will result in a slow-moving work zone on interstate and state routes in Shelby,
Fayette, Haywood, Madison, Henderson, and Dyer counties.

VARIOUS ROUTES – Pavement testing will cause temporary lane closures in District 47.

 

BENTON COUNTY
I-40 at Exit 126 – The grading, drainage, and paving on I-40 at the US-641 (SR-69) interchange
(Exit 126) will cause temporary lane closures throughout the project.

 

BENTON COUNTY
SR-1 (US70) – The grading, drainage, and paving on SR-1 (US 70) from the Camden Bypass to
the Tennessee River will cause temporary lane closures throughout the project. The following roads are closed for construction. Traffic to utilize Cut-Off Road to access US-70 (SR-1) – Missionary Grove Church Rd from US 70 (SR-1) to Old Hwy 70 and Old Hwy 70 from Missionary Grove Church Rd to US 70 (SR-1).

 

CARROLL COUNTY
SR-22 & SR-364 – The Resurfacing on SR-22 from near SR77 to SR77 and SR364 from SR22 to
SR77 will cause lane closures throughout the project paving and bridge repair.

 

CARROLL COUNTY
SR-76 (US-79) – The grading, drainage, noise walls, signals, and paving on U.S. 79 (S.R. 76)
from near S.R. 77 to near Cutlip Lane will cause lane closures throughout the project.
Meadowbrook Lane is closed.

Cutlip Lane – Traffic was shifted to the new alignment from near Cutlip Ln. to the Connector Rd.
leading into Trezevant, speed limit reduced to 35 MPH. Traffic will proceed down the new
alignment to an All-Way Stop, then onto Old US79 (SR76).
Dorsey Rd – is closed for utility realignment and road construction, weather permitting. The
detour route is posted.
Clay Farm Rd – is closed for utility realignment and road construction, weather permitting. The
detour route along Newsome Rd. is posted.

 

Power Station Rd – Is closed for road construction, and traffic is detoured along US-70A/SR105
Main Street.
SR-105 – Traffic is shifted to the new realignment close to Power Station Road.

 

CARROLL COUNTY
SR-220A – Pipe replacement on SR-220A ( Johnson Rd.) will result in the road being closed on
July 28th from 8am until 5pm about 1 mile from the intersection of SR-220.

 

DYER COUNTY
US-51 (SR-3) – The Resurfacing on US-51 (SR-3) from near SR181 to SR-78 will cause lane
closures throughout the project for paving.

 

DYER COUNTY
SR-103 – The resurfacing on SR-103 from near Ragan Levee Rd to near US-412 (SR-20) will
cause lane closures throughout the project for paving.

 

DYER COUNTY
SR-211 – The bridge over the North Fork Forked Deer River (just south of Dyersburg) will have
outside lane closures for inspection and evaluation.

 

DYER COUNTY
US-412 and US-51 INTERCHANGE – The full-depth repair of the concrete ramp from US-412
(SR20) to SR-211 North/St. Johns Ave, will cause the ramp to be closed. A signed detour will be provided.

 

GIBSON COUNTY
SR-5 –  The miscellaneous safety improvements on U.S.45(SR-5) at the intersection of Broad
Street in Dyer will cause lane closures throughout the project.

 

GIBSON COUNTY
SR-43 –  The repair of pipes by the City of Milan on US-45E (SR-43/N. 1st Street) from the intersection of US-79 (SR-76) to W. Woodrow Street will result in daily lane closures, one lane
in each direction will be maintained.

 

GIBSON COUNTY
SR-105 –  The resurfacing on SR-105 from Shiloh Road to Wayne Lloyd Road will cause lane closures throughout the project for paving.

 

GIBSON COUNTY
SR-188 –  The resurfacing on SR-188 from SR-104 to SR-104 will cause lane closures throughout the project for paving.

 

OBION COUNTY
SR-5 – The resurfacing on US-45W (SR-5) from the Gibson County Line to Polk Station Road
will cause lane closures throughout the project for paving.

 

OBION COUNTY
SR-43 – The resurfacing on US-45E (SR-43) from the Weakley County line to Kentucky State
Line will cause lane closures throughout the project for paving.

 

HENRY COUNTY
SR-218 – The Resurfacing on SR-218 from the SR-77 to SR-76 will cause lane closures
throughout the project for paving.

 

District 48
CHESTER, CROCKETT, DECATUR, HARDEMAN, HARDIN, HAYWOOD, HENDERSON,
MADISON, MCNAIRY

 

CHESTER COUNTY
SR100 between E. Main St. and Baker Rd.
Crews are replacing 2 bridges on SR100 between E. Main St. and Baker Rd. Please use caution
throughout the area. A temporary traffic signal is in place at the bridge over Dry Creek, east of
Henderson.
Restrictions: Speed limit is reduced from 55 MPH to 45 MPH on SR100
Width: 12’ Width Restriction

 

CHESTER COUNTY
Talley Store Rd. (County Road) is closed between Terry Ln. To past Talley Rd. – Talley Store Rd. closed for a bridge replacement.

 

CROCKETT COUNTY
SR88 in Bells, TN in relation to relocating SR76 around Pictsweet
The following roads are closed in Bells, TN
·       Central Ave. (SR88) from High St. To Christian Ave Ext.
·       Central Ave. (SR88), west of the CSX Railroad
·       Weddle St., south of Mitchell Ave.
·       Hicks St., from High St. to south of existing Central Ave. (SR88)

A posted detour will be in place for SR88.

 

DECATUR AND HENDERSON COUNTY
I-40 from Madison County line to MM 126 east and westbound
Continuing through Friday, July 24, 7 p.m.-6 a.m. – There will be nightly lane closures at various
locations on I-40 for milling and paving in Decatur and Henderson Counties. Closures will be
between MM 95-126, both east and westbound.

 

HARDIN COUNTY
S.R.69 from near Bingham Creek to the Decatur County line.
The resurfacing work will cause daily lane closures.

 

HARDIN COUNTY
Bridge on SR 128 over the Pickwick Dam
Continuing through Wednesday, July 29 – There will be intermittent lane closures for the
SafeSpan installation. Flagmen will be present during lane closures.

 

HARDIN COUNTY
SR 203 from Burnt Church Road to near Lonesome Pine Road

Resurfacing on SR203, from Burnt Church Rd. To Lonesome Pine Rd., will cause temporary
lane closures. Motorist should watch for equipment entering highway.

 

HAYWOOD COUNTY
SR180 Near Jeffries Rd. To Raymond Akin Rd. Closed to through traffic
SR180 is closed to through traffic for bridge construction.

 

HAYWOOD COUNTY
SR54 from near Thomas Street to the Crockett County line
Resurfacing on SR54, from Thomas St. To the Crockett County line, will cause temporary lane
closures. Motorist should watch for equipment entering highway.

 

HAYWOOD COUNTY
US 70 (US 79, SR1) from near Big Muddy Creek Canal to SR19
Resurfacing on SR1 (US70), from Big Muddy Creek Canal to SR19, will cause temporary lane
closures. Motorist should watch for equipment entering highway.

 

HAYWOOD COUNTY
SR76 from North Washington Avenue to Alsey Williams Road

Resurfacing on SR76 (US79), from North Washington Ave. to Alsey Williams Rd., will cause
temporary lane closures. Motorists should watch for equipment entering highway.

 

HENDERSON COUNTY
I-40 (Exit 101) at the SR104 Interchange
Wednesday, July 22 through Wednesday, July 29, 7 p.m.-6 a.m. – There will be nightly lane
closures on I-40 east and west bound between MM100-102, including possible ramp closures at
Exit 101 for ramp improvements including grading, drainage, lighting, and paving.

Wednesday, July 29 through Wednesday, August 5, 7 p.m.-6 a.m. – There will be nightly lane
closures on I-40 east and west bound between MM100-102, including possible ramp closures at
Exit 101 for ramp improvements including grading, drainage, lighting, and paving.

 

MADISON COUNTY
U.S. 70 (S.R. 1) from near S.R. 186 to near Mobile Street
Wednesday, July 22 through Wednesday, July 29, 7 p.m.-6 a.m. – There will be nightly lane
closures for the resurfacing on U.S. 70 (S.R. 1) from near S.R. 186 (L.M. 13.83) to near Mobile
Street (L.M. 16.05) (includes S. Church Street and S.R. 1 WB). This work will cause possible
lane closures in both directions. Motorists should watch for crew/equipment in the roadway.

 

LOOK AHEAD
Wednesday, July 29 through Wednesday, August 5, 7 p.m.-6 a.m. – There will be nightly lane
closures for the resurfacing on U.S. 70 (S.R. 1) from near S.R. 186 (L.M. 13.83) to near Mobile
Street (L.M. 16.05) (includes S. Church Street and S.R. 1 WB). This work will cause possible
lane closures in both directions. Motorists should watch for crew/equipment in the roadway.

 

MADISON COUNTY
US45 (SR5) in Three Way at Sanders Bluff Rd.
Continuing through Wednesday, July 29, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. – There will be lane closures in
both directions of US45 (SR5) at Sanders Bluff Road to the inside travel lanes.  Crews will be
adding turning lanes at the intersection of US45 (SR5) and Sanders Bluff Rd.

 

MADISON COUNTY
I-40 from MM70-88
Sunday, July 26 through Friday, August 7, 7 p.m.-6 a.m. – There will be nightly lane closures at
various locations on I-40 for milling and paving in Madison County. Closures will be between
MM 70-88, both east and westbound.

 

MADISON COUNTY (AT&T)

SR5 (US45) (S. Highland Ave.) from Herron Grove Rd. to Perry Switch Rd.
Continuing through Friday, July 24, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. – The right northbound lane of SR5 will
have intermittent closures from Herron Grove. Rd. to Perry Switch Rd. For AT&T to pull old
cable out of the exiting manholes. The whole section will not be closed. Crews will work south
to north.

 

MADISON COUNTY (JEA)
US412 (SR20) (Parkway Ave.) from US45 Bypass (SR186) east
Monday, July 20 through, Wednesday, July 29, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. – There will be intermittent lane
closures on US412 (SR20) (Parkway Ave.) from the US45 Bypass (SR186) going east. These
closures will be for JEA to perform electrical work.

 

MCNAIRY COUNTY
SR 142 From US45 (SR5) to near Albert Robinson Road
The resurfacing will cause temporary lane closures. Motorists should watch for equipment
entering the highway.

 

MCNAIRY AND CHESTER COUNTY
SR 224 from US64 to SR22A in Chester County

The resurfacing with cold in-place recycling (thin mix overlay) on SR224 from US 64 (SR15) in
McNairy County to SR22A in Chester County, including bridge repair work will cause daily lane
closures.

 

MCNAIRY COUNTY
SR 5 (US 45) from SR57 to US64
The resurfacing with cold in-place recycling on US45 (SR5) from SR57 to US 64 (SR15),
including concrete repair on the bridge over Roland Creek will cause daily lane closures.

 

District 49
SHELBY, FAYETTE, TIPTON, LAUDERDALE COUNTY

 

INTERSTATE
SHELBY COUNTY
I-40 Eastbound from Levee Rd. to Hollywood Street (L.M. 4.65 to L.M. 7.50).
There will be long-term lane closures on East and Westbound I-40 inside lanes for rubblization
and paving operations. At least two lanes in the east and westbound direction will remain open at
all times.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
Chester Street at I-40
North and Southbound Chester Street will be closed from Larry Anderson Lane to Scarlet Ridge Drive to perform bridge repairs on the I-40 bridges at L.M. 29.8.
Chester street will remain closed for the duration of the project.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
SR- 14/ US-61 (Third Street) Bridges over ICRR and Nonconnah Creek (L.M. 7.13) Shelby County, Tennessee. Interstate 55 Exit Ramp Bridge to State Route 14 (L.M. 7.44) State Route 14 (South 3rd Street) Bridge over Interstate 55 (L.M. 7.46).
The following ramps on US-61 S Third St (SR14) at I 55 will continue to remain closed with
detours in place:
·       Northbound S.R. 14 to northbound I-55.
·       Southbound S.R. 14 to southbound I-55.
·       Southbound I-55 to southbound SR-14
·       Northbound I-55 to northbound/southbound SR-14
Northbound SR-14 traffic was reduced to one lane from the approach to the bridge over Nonconnah Creek to just beyond the northbound SR-14 to northbound I-55 loop ramp. Drivers can expect intermittent flagging on SR14.

·       July 30 – Alternating closures of SR-14 overnight.
·       July 31 – Overnight closure of I-55 Northbound with signed detours.
·       August 1 – Alternating overnight closures of both SR-14 and I-55 with signed detours.
·       August 2–3 – Alternating overnight closures of SR-14 and overnight closure of I-55
Southbound with signed detours.
**At least one lane will remain open on I-55 during operations that do not require full closures.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
I-55 from near Mill Branch to I-240
Nightly, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – There will be intermittent lane closures for bridge repair and paving
operations. One lane to remain open in both directions at all times.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
I-240 from I-40 to I-55
Nightly, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – There will be intermittent lane closures for resurfacing operations.
One lane to remain open in both directions at all times.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
I-240 from near Elvis Presley Blvd to near S Perkins Road

Nightly, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – There will be intermittent lane closures for resurfacing operations.
One lane to remain open in both directions at all times.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
I-240 from near S. Perkins to near Park Avenue
Nightly, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – There will be intermittent lane closures for resurfacing operations.
One lane will remain open in both directions at all times.
Friday, July 24th, 8 p.m. to Monday, July 27th, 6 a.m.
Ramp (EXIT 16) from I-240 Eastbound to SR385 Eastbound will be Closed. There will be lane
closures for concrete pavement repair operations. Detour will be provided for SR 385 Exit
16. WEATHER PERMITTING.

 

FAYETTE COUNTY
I-269 (SR-385) from near SR-86 (U.S. 72) to SR-57
Daily – Northbound and Southbound I-269 (SR-385) will be reduced to one lane from SR-86
(U.S. 72) to SR-57 for bridge maintenance activities. At least one lane will remain open at all
times.  The speed limit will be reduced from 65 mph to 55 mph through the work zone. There
will be a 12’ lane width restriction over the I-269 North (SR-385 East) bridge at L.M. 1.23.

 

STATE ROUTES

FAYETTE COUNTY
SR-15 (U.S. 64) from near Tomlin Road to near Woodbridge Road
Daily – There will be temporary lane closures on east and westbound SR-15 from near Tomlin
Road to near Woodbridge Road to perform resurfacing work. At least one lane in each direction
will remain open at all times.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-1 (U.S. 70, Summer Ave.) from near I-40 to North of Sycamore View Rd.
Daily – There will be temporary lane closures along Westbound and Eastbound SR-1 for roadway
widening activities. Eastbound SR-1 will be reduced from two lanes to one lane beginning at the
I-40 Frontage Rd. and ending East of Sycamore View Rd. Westbound SR-1 will be reduced from
two lanes to one lane beginning near Munson Rd. and ending at the I-40 Frontage Road. Trucks
will be entering and exiting the work zone along SR-1. Flaggers will be present for directing
traffic as necessary. At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
Beginning Wednesday, February 18 – Access to Summer Trees Drive along SR-1 (Summer
Avenue) will be temporarily closed with detours in place.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-1 (N. Parkway) from near Danny Thomas St. to Tillman St.

Nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – There will be intermittent temporary lane closures for Milling
and Paving.  At least one lane in each direction to remain open at all times.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-3 (US51 Thomas St.) from Near Wolf River and Levee Road to Stage Road
Daily – There will be a long-term lane closure, Northbound and Southbound traffic will be
reduced to 1 lane in each direction with a traffic shift in place to begin bridge replacement.  At
least one lane in each direction to remain open at all times.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-4 from South of Shelby Drive to the Raines/Perkins Road interchange – The following routes
will be affected due to roadway widening activities along SR-4.
Affected Routes
·       Lamar Avenue (SR-4) – Speed limit reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph from South of Shelby
Drive to the Raines/Perkins Road interchange.
·       Shelby Drive (SR-175) – Speed limit reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph at the intersection
with Lamar Avenue (SR-4).
·       Pleasant Run Road – Closed to thru traffic from Pleasant Hill Road. Pleasant Run Road is
closed from Lamar Avenue (SR-4).

 

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-14 from Kerrville Rosemark Road to the Tipton County line
The widening on SR-14 (Austin Peay Highway) from Kerrville-Rosemark to the Tipton County line
will cause shoulder closures and temporary lane closures in both directions. There will be
intermittent lane closures daily on eastbound and westbound SR 14 to perform grading, drainage,
and paving work. Tracy Rd., Idaville Rd., Mulberry Rd., and Gragg Rd. will be closed, and a
detour put in place.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-57 (E. Poplar Avenue) from Fletcher Road to I-269 (SR-385)
Daily – There will be intermittent temporary lane closures along East and Westbound SR-57 for
roadway widening activities. Flaggers will be present for directing traffic. At least one lane will
remain open at all times.

 

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-177 (Germantown Parkway) from I-40 to US64
Nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – continuing through July 30 – There will be intermittent temporary
lane closures for new Striping installation, including temporary ramp closures.  At least one lane
in each direction to remain open at all times.

 

TIPTON COUNTY
SR-179 from SR-54 to SR-14 – There will be temporary lane closures on east and westbound SR
179 from SR 54 to SR 14 DAILY to perform resurfacing work.
