ALAMO, Tenn. - 48 year old Steve Hooks Alamo Assistant Police Chief was booked into the Crockett County jail Saturday night after was arrested for domestic assault. Hooks has been suspended without pay, according to Alamo Police Chief Jim Knox, Sheriff Troy Kylce Hooks was arrested Saturday night for domestic assault against his wife. The victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries Klyce described as pretty serious, including injuries to the face and torso. According to Alamo Police Chief Jim Knox, Hooks was suspended without pay immediately and will remain on suspension pending the investigation and resolution. Hooks’ personnel file shows he was hired with the Alamo Police Department in July 2011. Hooks had no write-ups or disciplinary actions in hid file. Prior to working in Alamo for the police department he was employed at the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office from April 2004 to June 2010. Hooks was terminated for insubordination and failure to respond to duty. Hooks is expected to appear Thursday morning in Crockett County General Sessions Court. He was released Sunday morning on a $1,500 bond.
