Haywood County Schools and Ford Community Relations are hosting a launch ceremony today, Tuesday, September 29, to celebrate the expansion of pre-K education in Haywood County.
The expanded pre-K capacity within Haywood County Schools is made possible through the support of Ford Community Relations and the investment directly increases student capacity and enrollment for the pre-kindergarten program.
According to Haywood County Schools Superintendent Amie Marsh, the additional classrooms will allow for an over 25 percent increase in the number of students currently being served.
“We had a big waiting list in Haywood for pre-K and limited capacity,” Marsh said. “We are thrilled to have the support from Ford for the additional teachers and assistants needed to make this expansion a reality.”
School leaders, school board members and students will be present to officially launch this exciting new chapter in early childhood education in Haywood County.
