Lifeline Blood Services is announcing the 10th annual Battle of the Badges happening Sept. 5 through Sept. 16.
The Battle of the Badges serves as a way to encourage first responders and community members to engage in friendly competition and help save lives.
Those participating in Lifeline’s Battle of the Badges are: Emergency Medical Services, Jackson Fire Dept., Jackson Police Dept., Madison Co. Fire Dept., Madison Co Sheriff’s Dept., TN Highway Patrol and TWRA.
Donors are encouraged to visit Lifeline and donate on behalf of one of the participating teams. Donors will sign in on the appropriate sign in sheet so the organization will get credit for their donation. The blood drive is open to anyone, not just employees.
“Last year, Madison Co. Fire Dept. won the Battle of the Badges with 25 donors,” said Melinda Reid, Marketing Manager for Lifeline Blood Services. “Overall, we saved 252 lives with 84 donors in the 2022 Battle of the Badges, so we are excited to see who wins this year’s Battle of the Badges.”
Lifeline will have a blood drive at Carl Perkins Civic Center on Monday, September 11 from 10:30am to 4:30pm and the first 100 donors will have a hot dog lunch sponsored by Latham’s.
Located at 183 Sterling Farms Dr., Lifeline Blood Services is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.
