HARDEMAN COUNTY, Tenn (October 3, 2017) – On Tuesday, October 3, 2017, Zachary Rye Adams was transferred to the Morgan County Correctional Facility. There he will begin to serve out his Life sentence for the April 13, 2011 Abduction, Rape, and 1st Degree Murder of Holly Bobo.
Jason Autry and Dylan Adams are also accused in the killing of the 20-year-old nursing student from Parsons Tennessee. Autry have not yet had a trial date set. The fourth defendant, Shayne Austin, committed suicide before standing trial.
Morgan County Correctional Complex is a medium security prison in unincorporated Morgan County, near Wartburg, Tennessee, operated by the Tennessee Department of Correction.
It opened in 1980.
An expansion completed in 2009 increased its capacity to 2,441 prisoners. The prison is accredited by American Correctional Association. The current warden is Shawn Phillips.
When the Brushy Mountain Correctional Complex closed in June 2009, its functions and most inmates and staff were transferred to the Morgan County Correctional Complex.
Some male death row inmates are held at Morgan County due to security concerns.
Murderer and former politician Byron Looper was held at Morgan County at the time of his death in 2013.
Perry March, a former Nashville lawyer convicted in 2006 of killing his wife ten years earlier, is currently incarcerated at Morgan County.
