MADISON CO., (August 17, 2015) – Madison County Commission will meet this morning. On the agenda, in addition to announcements and committee reports, is the discussion of Dr Kevin Gray’s contract as the Madison County physician.

In June the county commission voted to approve a contract with Quality Correctional Healthcare to provide all primary medical service to the Madison county jail for inmate care.
The three-year contract was worth $778 thousand dollars.
The county had an existing contract with Dr Kevin Gray and also employed three full-time nurses for inmate care. The nurses were terminated and given the option of applying with the new provider.
In other business, the letter of resignation by commissioner Ann Harrell has been taken off the agenda.
On July 13, Harrell submitted her resignation, writing “My life has taken another direction now and I praise God for the path He now leads me to take.”

On Thursday, Harrell withdrew her resignation. County officials provided no further information.
The commissioners and county mayor will also appoint several committee members including 7 members to the Ethics Committee
The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Jackson Madison County Health Department on North Parkway.
