HAYWOOD CO., Tenn (August 15, 2015) – A Haywood County church destroyed by arson celebrated their dedication service Saturday afternoon.
Trinity United Methodist Church Pastor John Bonson welcomed over 200Â people to services in their church home for the first time since the on
January 7, 2015 fire that destroyed their building
For many parishioners and pastor Bonson the dedication was a clearly emotional experience. The pastor had to fight back tears as he welcomed his congregation back to their church home. During the difficult times they relied on each other for encouragement to keep moving forward.
The historic church in Nutbush Tennessee was first organized in 1822 about one mile south of the Nunn Road location that burned. The burned out building had been home to the church since around 1840.
Bonson said the church plans to continue to expand their service to the community. They continue to receive generous donations from the community.
