
JACKSON Tenn – (August 16, 2015) – The 32nd annual Circle of Hope Telethon benefiting the Carl Perkins CenterĀ for Child Abuse Prevention raises awareness about child abuse and offers hope to victims and their families.
The program kicked off Sunday at 1:00 PM and for 9 hours volunteers entertained viewers and answered phones to take pledges. In the end the event raised over 1.3 million dollars to provide services.
The Telethon is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Carl Perkins Center. The telethon was broadcast live from the Carl Perkins Civic Center in downtown Jackson.
The Exchange Club ā Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse began providing services in 1981 from one small office. They now have 18 locations across West Tennessee. Services are available in all West Tennessee counties outside of Shelby.
The center provides a 24-hour hotline 1-800-273-4747 for victims and families that need help.
