Baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and Chevrolet, an iconic jingle that you can experience when Talk-N West Tennessee presents a Fourth of July celebration at Rockabilly Stadium, Saturday.

Gates open at 6 p.m., and festivities begin at 7 p.m., Saturday.

Across the country, people will be celebrating America250, and this celebration is about as American as you can get when Talk-N West Tennessee, the Jackson Rockabillys, Serra of Jackson and The Peach Cobbler Factory partner to host a special 1776 event.

The Rockabillys have hosted a Fourth of July event for four years and continue to have firework shows every Friday night when the team plays a home game.

However, this event will be the largest show the Rockabillys have ever hosted and is sure to have

“We are doing the largest fireworks show in the region,” Dennis Bastien, President and CEO of the Jackson Rockabillys said. “We’ve always done a large fireworks show on the Fourth of July – but this one we’ve almost doubled its length.”

The first 1,776 people to enter the gates of Rockabilly stadium will get their choice of a Rockabillys batting practice baseball, a delicious hotdog, a warm apple pie or a Serra Chevrolet frisbee.

“So, what we’re doing is to bring people here and come into the ballpark because, there will be thousands that come to watch fireworks and don’t come in the ballpark,” Bastien said. “They’re going to be parking in the surrounding areas to come watch fireworks.”

Dennis Bastien added Talk-N West Tennessee (talknwesttn.com) and the Rockabillys are double-teaming the evening for a 1776 celebration.

Dennis Bastien and wife Lisa have been in the business of baseball since 1978 and continue to live out their passion through the Jackson Rockabillys.

In 2020, major league baseball eliminated 43 minor league teams, Bastien took in four of them and gave them a spot in the Prospect Baseball League.

In 2022, Dennis and Lisa introduced the Jackson Rockabillys and leased the Ballpark at Jackson – now Rockabillys Stadium>

Dennis Bastien said the Rockabillys have been well-received in Jackson. Each player on the roster is currently enrolled in college or has just finished their final year of eligibility in college baseball.

The players are housed in Jackson through host families in which families “adopt a player” and provide housing for the 10 weeks they call Jackson home.
