Police Investigate Robbery and Shooting

 
 
Police were called about shots fired in Royal Arms Apartments, 1580 N. Royal Street. Officers responded and found shell casings in front of the 900 building. 
 
Police then received a call to Trinity Food Mart at 1586 N. Parkway. A 19-year-old man told officers that as he was sitting in his car in front of the 900 building when he was approached by two men. The suspects demanded money and took his wallet, and money that was laying in the car seat. As the victim drove away, the two men began shooting and struck his car numerous times. The victim had his two-year-old son in the car. Neither the man nor child was hit. 
 
Shortly afterward, an 18-year-old man was brought by private vehicle to JacksonMadison County General Hospital. He told officers and investigators that he was an 
innocent bystander who was struck in the back during the gunfire in Royal Arms. The man was admitted to the hospital and is in critical but stable condition. 
 
One suspect was described as a black man, slim build, with dreadlock style hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt and gray jogging pants. The second suspect was described as black man, around 5'10", with short afro style hair. He was wearing a black shirt and beige pants. 
 
Investigators have developed a person of interest in the case. Further details will be released as the case develops.
