JACKSON, Tenn. — Kevin Hicks announced today the formation of an exploratory committee to consider a campaign for Mayor of Jackson.
Hicks, who currently serves as a Madison County Commissioner, said the committee’s purpose is to listen to residents across Jackson and evaluate the community’s priorities ahead of the upcoming election on August 6.
“Right now, the most important thing is listening,” Hicks said. “People want to know their concerns are being heard, and that’s exactly what this exploratory committee is about. You’re talking, I’m listening.”
Over the coming weeks, Hicks plans to meet with residents, business owners, neighborhood leaders, and community stakeholders throughout Jackson to discuss issues including public safety, infrastructure, economic development, neighborhoods, and quality of life.
Supporters of the exploratory effort say Hicks is a natural leader who brings a practical, community-focused approach rooted in public service and local involvement.
“The August 6 election is what’s important right now,” Hicks said. “This is about having honest conversations with the people of Jackson and determining the best path forward for our city.”
Additional announcements regarding community meetings and committee activities are expected in the coming weeks.
