200 Bald Cypress Seedling Trees planted in recognition of Bicentennial Celebration

The Jackson Madison County Bicentennial Commission planted 200 Bald Cypress Seedling Trees at the Middle Fork Bottoms Recreation area in recognition of the 200th Bicentennial Celebration, Friday.

According to a press release from Summer Paris – Paris Creative Agency – members of the Jackson Madison County Bicentennial Commission, Madison County Mayor Jimmy Harris, City of Jackson Mayor Scott Conger and Jackson Chamber Red Coats were in attendance. After the tree planting ceremony, guests and scouts were invited to plant a tree to mark the historical occasion.

The Middle Fork Bottoms Recreational Area is an 850-acre floodplain restoration project along the Middle Fork Forked Deer River in Jackson, Tenn. The property is owned by the State of Tennessee and under the jurisdiction of the West Tennessee River Basin Authority.
