Jack’s Family Restaurant sets opening date for South Highland Avenue location
Jack’s – the fast-food chain restaurant, known for burgers, fries and milkshakes – is tentatively scheduled to open Nov. 11, at 1648 South Highland Ave., which is between Wendy’s and the Madison South Shopping Plaza.
Jack’s opened it first location in Jackson, at 157 Parkstone Place on 1.31 acres near the West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex in November, 2016.
One year later, Jack’s opened its second restaurant in Jackson at 3180 North Highland Avenue, which is between a Circle K Convenience Store and the Community Bank.
The Range officially opens on North Highland Avenue
The Range – indoor shooting range and training facility – 2310 North Highland Avenue, officially opened following a ribbon cutting, Wednesday.
Memberships available, 10 lanes, 25 yards long, $15/hour for 1 person on a lane, $20/hour for 2 people on a lane, Under 21 years of age must be on a lane with parent of legal guardian.
Beginners Package $35, includes lane rental, target 20 rounds of 9mm ammo, 20 rounds of .22 ammo, 9mm handgun rental, 22 handgun rental, eye and ear protection and safety briefing.
Business hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday; 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sundays.
Parker House opens on Hollywood Drive
The Parker House – a design shop, featuring home and garden and accessories – has opened at 1694 Hollywood Drive.
“We offer something for everyone,” said owner Michelle Matlock, “Men’s gifts, custom furniture, antiques, accessories, floral and many unique finds.
“The petal pushers is our in-house flower bar and floral designer.”
Business hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturdays.
West Tennessee Healthcare withdraws support of Jackson Generals
West Tennessee Healthcare will not renew its annual sponsorship with the Jackson Generals – the Southern League’s Double A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks – for the 2020 season.
Amy Garner, WTH’s Chief Compliance & Communications Officer, issued the following statement – “We notified them today that we will not be renewing our annual sponsorship.”
Lauren Hyde joins Town & Country REALTORS
The growth at Town & Country REALTORS continues with the addition of Lauren Hyde to the team.
According to a press release from Lyndsay Best – a Digital Solutionist with B3 Creative Agency – Lauren is an experienced REALTOR, and is excited to continue building her business in the Jackson area.

According to the Multiple Listing Service, new homes for sale in Jackson in September stood at 32, compared to 37 for the same period in 2018.
New construction homes sold January 1 through September 30, was 106, compared to 88 for the same period in 2018.
The number of homes on the market, which includes all of Madison County through September 30, stood at 295.
Average days on the market – January 1 through September 30, was 51.
The average sales price for a home for September was $174,422 compared to $166,475 for September 2018.
