Business Spotlight – Jackson Clinic names new Gastroenterologist
The Jackson Clinic recently added Dr. Muhammad Sohail Siddiq to their Gastroenterology Department. Dr. Siddiq joins Dr. Fausta A. Ditah, Dr. James E. Egan, Dr. Amy Naik, Dr. Mark Short and Dr. Gregory A. Szych. The Gastroenterology Department is located at 700 West Forest Avenue.
According to a press release from Katherine Cagle – Dr. Siddiq received a Bachelor of Medicine degree from the University of Karachi, Karachi, Pakistan. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan.
Dr. Siddiq completed his internship at Civil Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan and his residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Staten Island, NY. He completed a Gastroenterology fellowship at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Siddiq is Board Certified, American Board of Gastroenterology and American Board of Internal Medicine.

SAS Shoes Jackson closing on Vann Drive
SAS Shoes of Jackson, 256 Vann Drive, is closing.
Lee Brown, who has owned the store for 20-plus years, said COVID-19 was a factor.
A liquidation or closing sale continues – but only two customers are allowed in the store at the same time – masks are required.
Lee said store fixtures, furniture and shelving are also for sale.
Business hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
A closing date has not been announced.
Woodstock Bake Shop closes downtown location
Woodstock Bake Shop, 112 East Baltimore Street, has closed.
Owner Matt Childress said he and his wife Allison have relocated to Phoenix.
Matt opened Woodstock Bake Shop, which specializes in a variety of cupcakes and box lunches, in April 2016.
Woodstock Bake Shop, 80 Innsdale Cove, remains open.
Matt said the lease on the East Baltimore location was up at the end of January, but he decided to close the business Friday, January 15, following a late night, early Saturday morning break in.
Buckle leaving Old Hickory Mall for Vann Drive
Buckle – best known as a leading denim destination and fashion retailer – is leaving the Old Hickory Mall for 109 Vann Drive in The Columns.
Located next door to Marshalls, the retailer is scheduled to open January 27.
Buckle carries leading brands including Rock Revival, Miss Me, and Big Star, plus private labels including the Company’s exclusive brand, BKE.
In addition to denim, Buckle carries casual bottoms, fashion tops, sportswear, outerwear, accessories, and footwear.
Service includes free alterations, gift-packaging, layaway options, Get Fitted appointments, and a frequent shopper program.
Business hours at the Mall are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and Noon to 6 p.m., Sunday.
