Renovation begins, ends with demolition of former Poplar Corner Exxon on Hollywood Drive
Management could not be reached for comment, but the former home of Poplar Corner Exxon, 1450 Hollywood Drive, has been demolished.
Renovations had started on the property to convert to a Marathon convenience store owned by Starlight Fuel LLC, who purchased the property from REB Holdings for $1.1 million.
The canopy for the Marathon fuel pumps remain.
Starlight Fuel LLC also owns the former home of Exxon Food Mart Hollywood Express at 2255 Hollywood Drive near Interstate 40, and Marathon is the fuel supplier for the location.
The company also owns 1110 Vann Drive in The Columns Development.
Shell is the distributor of fuel for the location.
GE Appliances opens onsite advanced primary care clinic for Monogram Refrigeration LLC employees, families in Selmer
Selmer, Tennessee – America’s No. 1 Appliance Company,* GE Appliances, a Haier company, announced the opening of a new onsite advanced primary care clinic at its Monogram Refrigeration LLC plant in Selmer, Tennessee.
This state-of-the-art clinic will serve employees and their covered family members (age two and older), marking the first workplace-based health clinic of its kind in McNairy County. The new advanced primary care clinic is in addition to the traditional health coverage benefits offered by the company.
The new facility is GE Appliances’ third onsite advanced primary care clinic, with a fourth location planned to open in Alabama. Monogram Refrigeration LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Appliances, manufactures luxury refrigeration products and Zoneline air conditioners in Selmer and is one of the largest employers in the region.
Healthcare Where It’s Needed Most
The clinic is designed to deliver high-quality, value-based care that puts patients at the center of their healthcare journey. It will remain open until 6 p.m.—later than other regional clinics—and will offer an array of services, including:
- Advanced primary care
- Mental health services (a critical need in the region, where many currently drive to Corinth, MS for access)
- Access to a registered dietician
- Prescription services for common medications
- The new primary care clinic will be managed by third-party healthcare provider CareATC
Site plan approved for new retailer on South Highland Avenue
Consideration of a preliminary site plan for Dollar Tree, proposed to be located at 2108 South Highland Avenue, has been approved by the Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission.
Located on four-acres, plans call for the construction of a 10,450-square-foot building.
The proposal was submitted by BRG Development on behalf of BC North Partners.
Dollar Tree is located at 843 North Parkway, 1321 South Highland Avenue, 2588 Christmasville Cove in Park Place West, and 143 Stonebrook Place in West Town Commons.
Construction continues, opening date announced for Homewood Suites by Hilton in The Columns Phase III
Construction continues on Homewood Suites by Hilton, 33 Capital Avenue in The Columns Phase III, and an opening date is scheduled for late July, early August.
Located near the new West Tennessee Bone & Joint Institute, 50 Capital Avenue, the four-story, 73,000-square-foot hotel will offer 98 rooms and 101 parking spaces.
The hotel – which is being constructed on 2.55 acres – is owned by Mitul Patel, managing principal of Peachtree Hotel Group in Atlanta.
Homewood Suites by Hilton will become the fifth hotel on the west side of Vann Drive, joining Howard Johnson Inn, 1292 Vann Drive, Fairfield Inn & Suites, 1335 Vann Drive, Hilton Garden Inn, 1324 Vann Drive, and Tru by Hilton at 1136 Rushmeade Road.
Commercial property on Hollywood Drive sells for $1 million plus
Commercial property at 2078 Hollywood Drive – at Old Hickory Boulevard – has been sold.
Copoyo LLC purchased the property – which consists of a 15,941-square-foot facility – from Benjamin W. Hays for $1.9 million.
Tenants are Sew Carefree and Gourmet Your Way.
The new owner or tenants could not be reached for comment.
The building was constructed in 1974.
Fazoli’s closing Jackson location on Emporium Drive
According to management, Fazoli’s, 1914 Emporium Drive, is closing.
Fazoli’s, which opened it’s Jackson restaurant in 1997, will close June 17.
