T.G.I. Friday’s closes at 1035 Vann Drive

Management could not be reached for comment, but T.G.I. Friday’s has closed at 1035 Vann Drive.

According to published reports, Dallas-based T.G.I. Friday’s has struggled nationally for years to generate sales growth. The chain has closed about 50 restaurants around the country this year, which include approximately 12 since September.

It currently has about 215 restaurants in the United States.

Leaders Education Foundation awards $35,000 + to local educators with L.E.A.D.S Grants

The L.E.A.D.S Grant program awards grants to local educators whose initiatives empower students to Learn, Experience, Advocate, Dream, and Serve. To be eligible for these grants, educators were required to be in public and private K-12 schools, Technical Schools, University, and Colleges in West Tennessee.

“I’m excited to see how these grants will make an impact in the lives of educators and their students across West Tennessee,” said Leigh Anne Bentley, President of Leaders Education Foundation. “We are blessed to live in a community with educators who are willing to give their time, resources, and lives to empowering our future workforce and leaders. It is a joy to come alongside these educators in helping them to excel in their mission to serve their students.”

The building, not the business – commercial property on South Highland Avenue sells for $1 million plus

Management could not be reached for comment, but commercial property at 1617 South Highland Avenue has been sold.

Consisting of one acre, the 2,000-square-foot building – which is home to a Long John Silver’s – was purchased by Roushanak Pazouki from Amnon Shreibman for $1,161,290.

Greater Jackson Chamber named Regional Economic Development Agency of the Year by EDGE

JACKSON, Tennessee – The Greater Jackson Chamber has been recognized as the Regional Economic Development Agency of the Year by the Economic Development Growth Engine (EDGE).

Through economic development efforts in 2023, a total of 747 direct jobs were created. This economic growth also resulted in new local sales tax revenues totaling $1,419,075. The year saw a total capital investment of $447,587,546 by new and expanding industries.

Preliminary Plat – corner lot of Pleasant Plains Road, McClellan Road approved for new homes

The consideration of a preliminary plat for Regent Park Subdivision, comprising of 12 lots on approximately 2.957 acres has been approved by NCG Partners on behalf of NCG TN General Partners.

The street pattern for single family homes will consist of Pleasant Plains Road and adding one cul-de-sac off McClellan Road.
