Estanaula Barbeque Company opens at 1450 Hollywood Drive
You may not recognize the address where Matt McBride and Evan Ellington have opened the Estanaula Barbeque Company, but the location is a Jackson landmark.
Matt and Evan – Brownsville natives – opened their business venture at 1450 Hollywood Drive, the home of Poplar Corner Exxon.
Established in 2022, Estanaula is open from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., today, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-27.
Next week they will be working in Brownsville – following that, check out their posts on social media – Facebook and Instagram.
But you can look for Matt and Evan to be regulars at 1450 Hollywood Drive.
“We’re working on building out permanent seating,” Evan said, “We’ve been working in downtown Jackson.
“I actually rent the downtown Farmers’ Grill from the City of Jackson and Matt has been running his business out of there for about a year now, and it’s great during the Farmers’ Market season.
“But when the weather gets bad and the Market (closes for the season) it kind of slows down a little bit, so we were looking to get into a higher traffic area, more exposure, higher visibility – so we think this is a great location to do that.”
Construction continues on new Leaders Credit Union on South Highland Avenue
Looking to expand its capacity to serve, connect, and empower its members, construction continues on a new Leaders Credit Union at 1311 South Highland Avenue.
An opening date has not been announced, but the new 3,469-square-foot facility will replace the existing location at 1291 South Highland Avenue – which consists of 1,402-square-feet – will make way for a new parking lot.
Leaders has five locations in Jackson – 87 Murray Guard Drive, 214 Oil Well Road, 2673 North Highland Ave., 1956 North Highland Ave., and 1291 South Highland Avenue.
Construction continues on 98-unit hotel on Vann Drive in The Columns
Inclement weather has caused a few delays, but construction continues on a new Homewood Suites by Hilton in The Columns Phase III.
Owned by Mitul Patel – managing principal Peachtree Hotel Group in Atlanta – Homewood Suites by Hilton is located at 33 Capital Avenue and will become the fifth hotel on the west side of Vann Drive.
The four-story, 73,000-square-foot facility, which will offer 101 parking spaces, is being constructed on 2.55 acres.
Homewood Suites by Hilton will join Howard Johnson Inn, 1292 Vann Drive, Fairfield Inn & Suites, 1335 Vann Drive, and Hilton Garden Inn, which opened December 2022 at 1324 Vann Drive.
Business Spotlight – Regions Bank names Karley Bond as Jackson market executive

Property at the southwest corner of State Route 223 (Smith Lane) and U.S. Highway 70 has been approved for rezoning from manufacturing and warehousing to highway business.
Located near Central Distributors and comprising of approximately 3.3 acres, initial plans call for a convenience store.
Business Spotlight – Steed, Moore join Adelsberger Marketing as spring interns
JACKSON, TN – Adelsberger Marketing is pleased to announce its new interns for the 2024 spring semester.
According to a press release from Roshni Patel – Adelsberger Marketing – Digital Ads & Social Media – Leah Steed and Noel Moore will join the Adelsberger Marketing team to assist and learn specialties within the digital marketing field.
