From the Jackson Police Department –

The Jackson Police Department is investigating circumstances surrounding skeletal remains which were located in a wooded area near the end of Beasley Street at approximately 9:50 p.m., Monday.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the remains are those of a homeless man that had been living in the immediate area in which the remains were located.

At this point, there is no foul play suspected, however the remains have been sent for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

An update will be released when a positive identification has been confirmed.
