STANTON, Tennessee – SK On Tennessee became the newest U.S. entity of SK On, beginning an innovative and agile new chapter for the facility and community, Thursday, according to askinno.com/global
SK On Tennessee will build upon the strong foundation and skilled workforce developed over the past three years while positioning itself to compete more effectively in the rapidly evolving battery energy storage and electric vehicle markets.
In December, 2026, a Korean newspaper – Korea JoongAng Daily – reported Ford and SK On had dissolved their three partnerships – including Stanton, Tennessee – but SK On would take full control of the facility in Haywood County at BlueOval City, a 4,100 acre, 6-square-mile industrial park.
As an independent SK On company, SK On Tennessee will have greater flexibility to make strategic decisions, respond more quickly to market demands, and pursue long-term growth opportunities that support innovation and competitiveness in the U.S. battery industry.
