Chaotic scene after gunshots fired at airport
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Travelers are describing a chaotic scene at Los Angeles International Airport today, where shots were fired inside a terminal. Authorities evacuated the terminal. And flights at other airports that were supposed to take off for Los Angeles were kept on the ground.
There's no word on injuries, but television images showed two people being wheeled away by firefighters.
One witness says he heard "about a dozen gunshots" from inside a security gate at the terminal.
Travelers describe airport security staff evacuating people from terminals and rushing them outside to the tarmac. Hundreds of people remained gathered outside, next to airplanes, as authorities investigated what happened.
