Severe weather moves through west Tenn

MADISON CO (March 28, 2020) – A line of strong thunderstorms moved through West Tennessee bringing with it high winds and heavy rain. Radar indicated rotation prompted the Memphis office of the National Weather Service to issue a tornado warning for southwest Madison County and portions of surrounding counties. The alert expired at 9:15 PM
As of 9:30 PM city and county agencies including, Jackson Police Dept and the Madison County Sheriffs office have no reports of any damage or any sightings. Emergency Management Agency reports a tree down on power lines.  Sporadic areas of downed trees and limbs are being reported.
Power outages on Christmasville and Beech Bluff area.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for thunderstorms then variable clouds overnight with a chance of showers.
If you are experiencing a power outage you are urged to contact your provider service. Don’t go near downed power lines.
Portions of southwest Tennessee remains under a tornado watch until 2 AM.
