Ryan Rolison pitched in first Major League Baseball game, Tuesday

Ryan Rolison, a 2016 graduate from the University School of Jackson, made his Major League Baseball debut with the Colorado Rockies, Tuesday.

The Rockies’ first round selection in the 2018 MLB Draft, Rolison, a left-handed pitcher, worked one-third of an inning – the bottom of the eighth at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, against the Texas Rangers.

Rolison issued a walk to the first batter he faced, Joc Pederson, which loaded the bases, but got Josh Smith to line out to third to end the inning.

The Rockies lost the game 4-1, and open a three-game series Friday in Phoenix when they play the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
