HAYWOOD CO (January 11, 2017) – The United States Postal Inspection Service is currently working a Post Office burglary.

On Sunday, January 8, 2017 the Stanton Post Office, Stanton Tennessee was burglarized around 6:30 AM.  The office was closed until around 2:00 PM, January 9, 2017 because of a window which had been broken out during the burglary.

Officials say the retail area is now open during the normal scheduled business hours, which are 08:00 AM – 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM Monday through Friday and 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM on Saturday.

The PO Box lobby will continue to be closed when the retail area is not open until a new window is in place.
