JACKSON Tenn (August 19, 2015) – Edythe “Didi” Christie’s trial ended on

the second day with a guilty verdict.

Christie was charged with tampering with evidence in the murder
investigation of her son, John Christie.

The prosecution put on testimony to prove Edythe “Didi” Christie deleted
evidence that may have linked her son, John Christie, to the death of his
wife Brittany Christie.

John Christie was arrested in April 2014 accused of killing his wife,
Brittany Christie, and staging it to look like an overdose.

In 2014 a Madison County grand jury indicted John Christie on
second-degree murder and tampering with evidence charges.

Didi Christie told the jury she did delete pictures and video but she said
she did not destroy any evidence

At a hearing in June, Police played recorded phone calls between John
Christie and his mother Didi.

At the hearing, police played recorded phone calls between Didi Christie
and John Christie, who was in the county jail.

In one recorded call, John Christie asked his mother to delete all his
texts and emails and to destroy the cellphone’s SIM card that stores
information.

John Christie also allegedly asked his mother to call the man who sold him
the heroin to instruct him what to tell investigators. The recording
appears to show that she did try to call that man from another phone while
speaking to her son, but was unable to do so.

Didi Christie reminded her son several times that the phone calls were
being recorded, and told him cellphone evidence could be retrieved after it
was deleted

According to the Tennessee Bar Association, Christie is still an active
attorney and the Bar Association will only petition to suspend her license
if she is found guilty
