Madison Place, 565 Carriage House Drive, has the appearance of a new restaurant that is about to open in Jackson, but that’s not the intention of owner Phillip Jackson.

“We are putting in diversity suites,” Jackson said. “We have 29 spaces, and businesses can lease a 12-by-14 unit (about 200-square-feet). We saw this concept in Scottsdale, Arizona.”

Each unit in the 8,000-square-foot building located across Carriage House Drive from the Bank of Jackson, will lease weekly for $150.

Jackson said nail salons, boutiques, kiosks and office space are a few of the businesses that might be attracted to the facility that was once home to an El Chico Mexican Restaurant and Besso’s, an Italian restaurant.

“There were no thoughts of us putting in a restaurant … that is a tough market,” Jackson said. “We hope to have the renovation completed by the end of July.”
