MADISON COUNTY, TN – On May 3, 2025, at approximately 9:49 PM, Rickey Brooks, an off-duty
deputy with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, was involved in a motor vehicle collision at the
intersection of Division Avenue and Campbell Street within the city limits of Jackson, Tennessee.

The Jackson Police Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol are currently investigating this incident. As a result of the investigation at the scene, Mr. Brooks was arrested and taken into custody. He has been charged with Driving Under the Influence (TCA § 55-10-401) and Violation of the Implied Consent Law (TCA § 55-10-406).

At this time, Mr. Brooks has been placed on administrative leave without pay, pending the outcome of an internal administrative investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Because this is an active and ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time.
