Jackson, TN – The Leadership Jackson Alumni Association (LJAA) proudly announces the recipients of the 2026 Judy Renshaw Leadership Jackson Alumni Association Scholarships. This year, three outstanding high school students from Jackson-Madison County have been selected to receive the prestigious award:
- Avani Prasad is a graduate of University School of Jackson. Avani will attend Vanderbilt University and major in biochemistry. She plans to pursue a medical career as a surgeon.
- Je’Delle Ross is a dual enrollment graduate of Early College High and Jackson State Community College and will be attending Middle Tennessee State University to pursue studies in government policies, law and/or international relations. She wants to use her voice, knowledge, and skills to advocate for others and help improve lives.
- Devin Wagner, a graduate of University School of Jackson, is attending the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in the fall. Devin will major in nursing and plans to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
Each student will receive a $1,500 scholarship to support their higher education goals.
“The selection committee continues to be impressed by the caliber of students who apply for this scholarship each year,” said Shelby Matthis, alumni association President. “Avani, Je’Delle, and Devin have demonstrated leadership, academic excellence, and a commitment to serving others. We are proud to support them as they begin this next chapter and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in their communities and beyond.”
Since its establishment in 2014, the Judy Renshaw Scholarship has awarded nearly $50,000 to deserving students pursuing higher education. Scholarships are paid directly to the recipient’s college or university during their freshman year.
Established in 2014, the Judy Renshaw Scholarship honors Judy Renshaw, who dedicated more than 35 years to developing Leadership Jackson, Leadership University, and the Leadership Jackson Alumni Association programs.
“One of the greatest joys of my career has been watching young people discover their potential and step into leadership opportunities,” said Judy Renshaw. “These scholarship recipients represent the very best of our community, and I am honored that this scholarship continues to invest in students who are committed to learning, serving, and making a difference.”
