Jackson’s historically black college, Lane College, will get a new
archway on campus

A new arch over Lane Avenue will have “Lane College” on it and it will be
the official entryway to the college.

Lane College competed against other historically black colleges for a
$50,000 grant from Home Depot in a competition called Retool Your School.

The competition was based on votes and the strength of the school's
proposal

Completion date for the arch is scheduled for early March. Officials say
there will be an event to mark the new addition.
