BROWNSVILLE – Looking for a new challenge, Kendall Dancy, Haywood High School boys head basketball coach resigned, Wednesday.

Dancy, who produced the school’s only TSSAA state title, will remain at Haywood High School as a teacher through the end of the school year.

Dancy, who led the Tomcats to the 2015 Class AA state championship, produced a 170-59 overall record in seven years.

“I would like to thank the Haywood County School system, Superintendent, Administration, Athletic Director, all of Tomcat Nation, and most importantly the families and the young men for allowing me to be a part of their lives,” said Dancy in a press release. “I love Haywood County.”
