Kara Montgomery, who celebrates her 14th year as an employee for West Tennessee Healthcare Thursday, was named the organization’s employee of the month, during the Board of Trustees monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.
Kara, who works in Nuclear Medicine, is viewed as someone who goes the extra mile to ensure the comfort of patients – especially the elderly patients.
According to a press release, “She is always thinking of others. In November, Kara asked a co-worker to go to the gift shop with her badge to buy a patient a phone charger. She believes the nurses in ROPU really work hard without recognition, so Kara bought them all milkshakes.”
She also recognized her fellow co-workers, when asked about receiving the employee of the month award.
“This is certainly an honor, given the number of people employed at West Tennessee Healthcare,” Kara said. “The team I work with … we have the camaraderie and the care for our patients.”
