BACKGROUND
Jackson Police Officer, Travis Hass, alleged that in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 he was injured in a shooting outside L. Dalton Wholesale Meat Co., Lawrence Switch Road. According to a JPD press release regarding the incident, Hass told investigators he saw a suspicious person outside the business and walked away from his patrol car to investigate. Hass’ statement is, as he approached the individual he was ambushed him from behind by a second man. Hass told investigators he was shot when he struggled with the two attackers over his gun.
