JACKSON, TN…The interim tag was removed Tuesday, when the Board of Trustees at West Tennessee Healthcare named James Ross the new CEO at West Tennessee Healthcare.
“I want to thank the search committee, this board, this organization,” Ross said. “I am overwhelmed with thankfulness and gratitude to an organization I have worked in for 32 years (and) to the Board that has allowed me this last 12, 13 months to serve in this role … being able to represent the 5,800 employees in this organization.
“It’s an overwhelming thought but a true blessing.”
Bobby Arnold, who served as CEO of West Tennessee Healthcare for six years, resigned his position in April, 2016, and a national search began for his replacement.
“J R has a servant’s heart,” Danny Wheeler, WTH Trustee said. “We have the perfect choice.”
Witt/Kieffer, recognized as the preeminent executive search firm for organizations committed to improving the quality of life, was selected by West Tennessee Healthcare to find West Tennessee Healthcare’s third CEO in six years.
“I’ve worked with J R (Ross) my entire time I’ve been on the board,” Phil Bryant said. “He has done a phenomenal job. We committed to this community one year ago to find the best person for this job with a national search.
“He will be a phenomenal leader, and this is a great day for West Tennessee Healthcare.”
