First phase of Kroger renovation at West Towne Commons? Former steakhouse demolished

JACKSON, Tn….The first phase of renovation at Kroger at 41 Stonebrook Place, in West Towne Commons is underway with the demolition of the former Ryan’s Steakhouse.

Kroger purchased the buildings that housed Ryan’s Steakhouse at 71 Stonebrook Place, and the former First South Bank branch at 77 Stonebrook Place. The properties are near the corner of Oil Well Road and the U.S. 45 Bypass in North Jackson.

New fuel pumps are scheduled to be installed where the restaurant once stood.

“That’s what we understand,” Greg Rowland, plans examiner for the City of Jackson, said. “We’ve issued a permit, but we haven’t seen anything on paper, yet.”

The supermarket giant renovated its 49,296-square-foot store in Lynnwood Shopping Center, 941 N. Parkway.

Renovations included a new fuel station.

The Lynnwood store makes up about 49 percent of the 102,596-square-foot center.

Kroger nearly doubled the size of its store at 35 W. University Parkway – increasing from 57,045 square feet to about 103,000 square feet.

Kroger is the only supermarket in Jackson located west of the U.S. Highway 45 Bypass.
