Jackson Set to Host the Glitz and Talent of the Second Annual Miss Volunteer America Pageant

The Miss Volunteer America Pageant will be returning to Jackson’s Carl Perkins Civic Center June 21-24 where 51 girls will compete for the opportunity of a lifetime.

The Miss Volunteer America organization is a nationwide, service-oriented scholarship program based in Tennessee that seeks to empower young women through educational scholarships and service opportunities.

The inaugural Miss Volunteer America, Alexa Knutzen, was crowned last May. Hailing from Utah, Knutzen has worked to spotlight the values of scholarship, education, responsibility, volunteerism and empowerment throughout her year of service.

“As my year is ticking to a close, I am feeling so honored that I have been the first,” said Knutzen through an instagram post. “It has been an absolute honor watching the volunteer program grow across the country.”

Titleholders from all 50 states and the District of Columbia are preparing for the national competition, where over $125,000 of scholarship dollars and prizes will be awarded.

Ladies will arrive in Jackson on June 18, where they will participate in opening ceremonies at the Ned at 2 p.m. They will then depart for Hub City Brewing, where they will hold a meet and greet from 6-8 p.m. Both events are open to the public.

Throughout the week, contestants will visit the Jackson Rotary Club, Jackson Exchange Club and Old Hickory Rotary Club for luncheons and recognition for their service efforts.

Preliminary competition nights are June 21, 22 and 23. Each contestant will represent their state in the fitness and wellness, evening gown, talent and private interview competitions. Each portion of the competition is worth 25% of the contestants’ score.

Finals will be held on Saturday, June 24. A top 16 will be called out initially, and those ladies will compete in fitness and wellness. The judges will then declare a top 12, who will compete in talent. From there, a top 10 will be presented to compete in evening gown. Finally, a top five will be asked an onstage question. From those ladies, the queen and her court will be announced.

“Attendees can expect an unforgettable evening of entertainment, inspiration and the opportunity to witness the crowning of the new Miss Volunteer America 2024,” said the Miss Volunteer America Organization. “This prestigious event shines a spotlight on exceptional individuals who exemplify the values of service, compassion and leadership.”

Tickets can be purchased at https://www.etix.com/ticket/v/22730/carl-perkins-civic-center. The pageant will also be live streamed at pageantslive.com.
