The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 65-year-old male died Jan. 22 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 162 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 39 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 10,202 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 9,130 have recovered.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 6 to 76.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Nineteen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Four of those patients are on a ventilator.
