JACKSON, Tennessee – The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department will begin giving Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 pediatric vaccine to children ages 5 to 11 on Thursday, Nov. 4.
Children ages 5 to 11 who receive Pfizer BioNTech’s COVID-19 pediatric vaccine will receive two doses spaced 21 days apart.
Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
“We’re excited to begin giving COVID-19 vaccine to younger children,” Regional Director Kim Tedford said. “We saw an increase in the number of pediatric COVID-19 cases with the Delta variant. The vaccine is safe and effective in preventing COVID-19.”
The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department offers COVID-19 vaccinations Monday through Friday. No appointment required. COVID-19 vaccines are available during the following hours:
Monday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tuesday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Wednesday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Children may receive the COVID-19 vaccine and other vaccines at the same time.
