JACKSON Tenn, (September 12, 2017) – Keep Jackson Beautiful Launches 2017 Great American Cleanup “Clean Your Block Party”,

Volunteers are Needed to Take Action to Clean, Restore and Renew Jackson

Throughout the Month of October Keep Jackson Beautiful announced the launch of the 2017 Great American Cleanup Clean Your Block Party.

The Great American Cleanup is the country’s largest community improvement program that has more than 20,000 communities participate each year.

Organizers say, This event provides us the opportunity to spread the word on beautifying communities, educate and encourage volunteers to build a sense of community pride and stewardship and offer experiences that help change behaviors with the goal of making a lasting, positive initiative on communities nationwide, block by block.

“Litter is everyone’s responsibility although not everyone litters, we do all live in this
community together and must work together to keep it clean and green. We do this out of
community pride to maintain/improve our quality of life and our local economy” said Jodi
Jacobs, coordinator of Keep Jackson Beautiful.

Everyone in Jackson is encouraged to participate in this year’s litter-pickup effort. Civic and
service organizations, church and youth groups, school groups and clubs, scouts, individuals,
families, neighborhoods, and businesses can organize cleanup teams and pitch in.

By participating in this year’s Clean Your Block Party, local residents can help make Jackson a more vibrant community.
