Flora Snipes, PCT, West Tennessee Healthcare Rehab Center, was named the employee of the month for February.
Snipes was presented the award when the West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Trustees held its annual meeting Tuesday, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
“She has been with West Tennessee Healthcare for 26 years, and she is a very dedicated employee,” Tim Adams, vice president hospital services said. “She works in the inpatient rehab center caring for patients who have had strokes, traumatic brain injuries and hip fractures.
“It takes special people to help those people recover and it takes a special person to work there while maintaining the great attitude she does.”
Once construction is complete, Snipes will relocate to the new Spire Rehabilitation Center at 616 W. Forest Ave., the former site of the Jackson Clinic.
The new hospital will consist of about 57,000 square feet, and the facility will include 48 all-private patient rooms, four bariatric rooms, 10 rooms for patients needing dialysis, a therapy gym, courtyard, dining and dayroom areas.
West Tennessee Healthcare and HealthSouth Corporation formed a joint venture to own and operate the facility.
