According to a press release from Tom Mapes – Public Information Officer at the Madison County Sheriff’s Department – Chemier Burns has been captured and returned to custody.
“Madison County Sheriff John Mehr said at 12:10 p.m., (Thursday) Madison County Deputies and members of the Jackson Metro Narcotics Unit apprehended the 18-year-old-runaway in Lincoln Courts in Jackson.
“He had been on the run since 10 a.m., (Wednesday) when he leaped out of an Anti-Litter Crew van that had stopped at a traffic sign at Church and Chester Streets in Jackson.
“Burns was serving a sentence for violation of probation – offered no resistance – and will be charged with escaping.”
