The De’ Greaun ReShun Frazier TBI Crime Laboratory & Regional Headquarters, 350 Smith Lane, is scheduled to open before the end of April.
The facility is named for TBI Special Agent De’ Greaun Frazier, who died in the line of duty during an undercover operation in Jackson, Aug. 9, 2016.
He was hired by the TBI in 2016 and worked in the Drug Investigation Division.
Prior to working at the TBI, Frazier had 15 years of public safety service with several law enforcement departments, including the Millington Police Department and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.
Located south of McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport, the new crime lab and regional headquarters consists of 49,000-square-feet, and the the total project budget – building and equipment – is $26 million.
The new crime lab and regional headquarters is expected to create about 100 new jobs.
