In a social media post today, Dresden Mayor Jeff Washburn ordered citizens off of the town’s streets from sun-down to sun-up. “Today, Monday, March 30, Mayor Jeff Washburn announced additional measures to disrupt the spread of the virus within the city.
These measures include the implementation of a curfew in the City of Dresden from dawn to dusk each day until further notice,” the city wrote on its Facebook page.
The post states the curfew is applicable to “vehicular traffic, pedestrians walking upon the streets and sidewalks…”
There are exceptions, according to the post. “Exceptions…will be persons transiting by vehicles through the City of Dresden, individuals driving or walking to a place of employment or for legitimate business activities, and persons enroute to destinations outside of the city.
The curfew will be enforced by Dresden police.
Dresden is the county seat of Weakley County in West Tennessee.
