JACKSON Tenn (July 17, 2015) – Police say a 29-year-old man is dead but they are releasing little additional information.

Patrol officers responded to a call of shots fired around 3:50 a.m. Friday morning.  Police found a 29-year-old black male dead from an apparent gun shot wound.

Police Chief Julian Wiser, who has been on the scene since approximately 4:00 a.m. said it appears the shooting happened around the 100 building of Lincoln Court Apartments.

Authorities have confirmed a robbery occurred around 3:45 a.m.in the area of 33 Carver, roughly the same time as the shooting at Lincoln Courts Apartments . It is too early to tell if those two incidents are connected according to officers.
