Beer Board approves 4 special occasion permits, fines convenience store for illegal sale

The Jackson Beer Board approved four special occasion permitsĀ  and fined one convenience store for illegal sales during their monthly meeting at Jackson City Hall, Tuesday.

 

Special occasion permits approved –

 

Mark Winston, for an event known as West Theta Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., which will be held at the Jackson Fairgrounds, to sell, store, and serve beer, September 19, 2026.

 

Jennifer Graves, representing the STAR Center, for an event known as – Dancing With the STARS at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, to sell, store, and serve beer October 22, 2026.

 

Melissa Spurgeon, The Foundation, for two events to sell, store, and serve beer.

 

The first event will be held at 237 Wiley Parker Road, November 13, 2026.

 

The second event will be held at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, November 14, 2026.

 

Cara Hickerson, for a series of events featuring The Jackson Symphony League at the Carl Perkins Civic Center – September 12, 2026 through December 5, 2026, to sell, store, and serve beer.

ASHUDEV, Inc., a convenience store, doing-business-as One-Stop, 1425 South Highland Avenue, had its beer license suspended for 30 days, but if a $1,500 fine is paid within seven days by Shanikumar Patel, the suspension will be lifted.
