JACKSON, Tenn. - Liberty Technology Magnet High School former principal June Murry is suing
the Jackson Madison County school district, the school board and
Superintendent Verna Ruffin for alleged retaliation and hostile work
environment. According to the lawsuit the problems began after remarks
Murry made at a community meeting.

A lawsuit was filed in Federal Court on Thursday, June Murry seeks damages
for alleged hostility and retaliation resulting from comments Murry made
during a 2015 meeting at Jackson State Community College regarding the
school system’s Vision 2020 plan.

A state suit filed in chancery court claims Murry was retaliated against
for having a conversation with a school board member.

The suit seeks an injunction against the defendants as well as damages.

as principal and eventually transferred to teach at Andrew Jackson
