Macy’s at the Old Hickory Mall, 2021 North Highland Avenue, officially closes at 5 p.m., today.

Remaining items in the store are rugs, jewelry and fixtures.

A day after confirming more stores would close, the department store chain Wednesday revealed a new round of store closures. Macy’s, Inc. which also runs Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury, identified the Jackson location as one of the 36 namesake stores and one Bloomingdale’s expected to shutter by or before midyear.

The string of closures are part of Macy’s three-year plan to close one-fifth of its stores or roughly 125 locations, which was first announced in February 2020, before the coronavirus pandemic led to temporary store closures starting in mid-March.
