(November 4, 2013) Jackson TN – The City of Jackson is embarking on a process called One Jackson, a public process that will help create a new Civic Master Plan for the City. Public participation will be critical as we plan for the City’s future. The Plan will address land use and development, transportation, neighborhoods, parks and open space, the environment, community facilities, and so much more.
The City is hosting a workshop for businesses owners and managers to obtain their unique input for the City’s new Civic Master Plan. The Business Workshop has been scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15. If you are a business owner, we encourage you to attend and participate in the workshop. Your input will help shape the Master Plan and ensure that it reflects the interests of the Jackson business community.
The meeting will be held at the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, located at 197 Auditorium Street, Jackson, Tennessee, 38301.
The purpose of this workshop is to discuss issues and challenges related to establishing, operating, and growing a business in Jackson. The workshop will help establish a dialogue and obtain feedback from those members of the development and business community that have a unique insight and perspective, and whose assistance and involvement will be critical to plan implementation.
In addition to traditional outreach events, including meetings and workshops, an interactive project website has been created to allow residents and business owners to track the project and provide feedback on-line, using a variety of on-line tools, such as resident and business questionnaires, and an interactive mapping tool that allows visitors to create a map of issues and opportunities in Jackson.
A link to the project website can be found on the City of Jackson’s Home Page located at http://www.cityofjackson.net .
