­Two Men Indicted in Double Murder at Wolfe Enterprises:
Anthony Swift Charged with Two Counts of First-Degree Murder and Travontay Berry Charged with Gun Possession and Tampering with Evidence

31-year-old Anthony Swift and 27-year-old Travontay Berry, both of Jackson, were indicted today by the Madison County Grand Jury in connection with the double murder on the parking lot of Wolfe Enterprises.

Jackson police presented the case, and the grand jury retuned indictments charging Swift with two counts of first-degree murder.

Indictments were also returned charging Berry with unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence.

According to investigators, around 3:05 a.m. on April 28, police were called to a shooting at Wolfe Enterprises located at 438 E. Main Street. Officers arrived to find Brian Banes and Delandis Clark, both 31, of Jackson, with apparent gunshot wounds. They were transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and later pronounced dead.

Two other gunshot victims arrived at the hospital via personal vehicles. The investigation determined there was an argument on the parking lot of 438 E. Main Street as a party was letting out. Berry fired a semi-automatic handgun into the air while he was standing in a crowd of people.

The investigaton alledges that subsequently, Swift approached Banes and Clark and shot them multiple times. After the shootings, Berry left 438 E. Main Street and disposed of the weapon that he fired.

On May 7, the Jackson Police Department's Gang Unit and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Swift in Jackson. He continues to be held at the Madison County Jail with no bond.

Berry surrendered at the Jackson Police Department on May 13. He is being held at the Madison County Jail on $15,000 bond.

Swift and Berry are scheduled to be arraigned in Madison County Circuit Court next Monday.
