First Business Confirmed For The Crossings At Exum Place

A new Circle K convenience store will anchor early commercial activity at The Crossings at Exum Place, the ambitious 208-acre master-planned community under development in north Jackson.

The store is planned for the prominent corner of Ashport Road and North Highland Avenue (U.S. Highway 45), directly at the gateway to the $350 million mixed-use project. Bidding for construction of the approximately 3,956-square-foot C-store closed earlier this month, signaling that work on the site could begin soon.

The Crossings at Exum Place envisions a vibrant live-work-play community featuring more than 1,100 residential units (including over 600 single-family homes and townhomes plus apartments), 260,000 square feet of commercial space, outdoor venues, a farmers’ market, and extensive green space with lakes and parks. The development lies along Ashport Road between the U.S. 45 Bypass and North Highland Avenue.

The overall project, which has received unanimous approvals from city and county leaders along with Tax Increment Financing support, is expected to create 1,500 jobs and generate billions in economic impact over the next two decades. Developers continue discussions with grocery stores, restaurants, healthcare providers, and other potential tenants.
